Required margin = (Contract size × Lots × Open price) ÷ Leverage. For 1 lot of XAUUSD at $4,695.62 with 1:1000 leverage: (100 × 1 × 4,695.62) ÷ 1000 = $469.56. This is the minimum equity needed to open and hold that position.

Choose the same leverage level as your live account to get an accurate margin figure. Your account settings page shows your current leverage level, which can be adjusted by request. The calculator will automatically apply the selected instrument’s maximum leverage level, if it is lower than that of your account.
