Southeast Asia, Thursday 4 December – Research shows SEA traders demand more than most brokers can deliver. Fintrix Markets is moving fast to close the gap.

Southeast Asia now accounts for the largest share of global online FX and CFD engagement, with around 3 million active traders across Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Despite the rapid rise, many still face inconsistent execution, unclear pricing, delayed withdrawals and limited local support. The 2024 Investment Trends Singapore Leverage Trading Report also notes growing switching intentions as traders look for stronger performance, lower commissions and greater transparency.
Fintrix Markets, a client-first broker built on institutional grade infrastructure and led by former IG and Pepperstone executives, believes Southeast Asia is entering what it calls the expectation gap.
Investment Trends flags that in SEA there is rising demand for diversified portfolios, prop-trading and AI-assisted trading among retail traders, signalling increasing sophistication in preferences and trading strategies. However, many legacy brokers were built for a different era.
“Southeast Asian traders have evolved rapidly, as in turn have their expectations for service, but many brokers have not kept pace,” said Scott Redford, Analyst and Director at Fintrix Markets. “Retail traders today are using AI, mobile tools and deeper market knowledge to accelerate their learning and education, and they expect reliable execution, low latency and genuine transparency. Many are still trading through large, inflexible infrastructures that were never built for this level of sophistication. Traders now demand conditions that perform under pressure, not just scale.”
Fintrix’s expansion is built on trading conditions rather than territory coverage. The broker prioritises execution strength, consistent pricing, fast, free and reliable funding, multilanguage local support and platform stability throughout the global trading week.
“Our approach is simple: Conditions must perform when traders need them most,” said Gordon Buchanan, Founder and CEO of Fintrix Markets. “A trader in Asia should receive the same clarity and stability as a trader in London. That level of consistency is becoming a standard expectation in Southeast Asia, and it is something we are committed to supporting as we grow in that region.”
Fintrix recently hosted a partner event in Bangkok that attracted high interest from both retail and sophisticated traders. Attendees highlighted growing demand for brokers that offer transparent costs, sharp execution and an understanding of local trading behaviour.
Since commencing its Southeast Asia rollout in October 2025, Fintrix has seen growing onboarding and trading activity across Thailand and Malaysia, reporting 106% increase in new traders in the last month alone.
